HighOnLove products are gynecologically tested, chemical-free, vegan, and cruelty free. Made in Canada with premium, 100 per cent natural ingredients, HighOnLove products contain no soap, parabens, allergens, or colorants. Two versions of the line will be made available; the THC + CBD line and the Cannabis Seed Oil line to cater to those who live in areas with cannabis restrictions. HighOnLove founder Angela Mustone answered our questions.
What did you do before starting HighOnLove?
Prior to founding HighOnLove, I was working as an international sales manager for CalExotics. I was able to grow their international sales by 77 per cent in the first two years. In total, I have worked in the sexual wellness industry for 17 years.
How did you get into this industry?
As I became an expert in the wellness industry, I became passionate about combining cannabis with sensual skincare products for women. I saw a real need for high-quality luxury products made from premium ingredients and cannabis.
When and where did HighOnLove begin?
The company was founded in 2017 in Montreal, Quebec. We began production less than two years ago and have achieved significant growth in a short period of time!
How many people are employed by the company at the beginning? What are their roles?
Given the fact that we have been around only a few years, we are still at the beginning! We have six employees and like any startup, we all wear many hats!

What did you first produce?
We initially launched HighOnLove with several products. HighOnLove’s first line of products included Stimulating Orgasm Oil, Stimulating O’Gel, Chocolate Body Paint, Sensual Massage Oil, and Sensual Bath Oil. This immediately gave our product line enough variation to appear to a diversity of experiences as well as single women and couples.
What were some of your struggles as you started HighOnLove? How did you overcome them?
My work with CalExotics has prepared me so well to overcome many of the challenges that HighOnLove faced. As with sex toys, there were taboos associated with cannabis. We don’t believe our products should be hidden in drawers. So, we tackled this challenge in two ways. First, we designed pampering, sensual skincare products with lavish bottle designs that could both help women find the freedom to explore and enjoy, while being luxurious enough to be an accessory on a nightstand. Secondly, we continue to educate the media, consumers, and key stakeholders on the benefits of cannabis in skincare products and the overall physical and mental health benefits of self-care, wellness, and cannabis.
How did you gain market share and recognition?
We have been very strategic in continuing to develop products such as our new Lip Gloss for couples or our collaboration with CalExotics, as well as increasing our distribution with Askderm and Amazon. We also have engaged in ongoing media relations garnering significant coverage from outlets such as Allure, PopSugar, and Refinery29, which has lent significant mainstream credibility to our brand as a high-end sensual product.
Has your company moved or expanded since the beginning?
HighOnLove has been based in Montreal since we started, and we have no plans to move. We have partnered with ROSE LifeScience. Based in Quebec, ROSE LifeScience’s team of marketers, growers, and industry leaders reimagined the cannabis industry. By combining innovation with nature’s wisdom in their strictly controlled indoor environments, they are able to ensure the plants are of the highest quality; providing HighOnLove’s products with premium-grade cannabis oil.
We also have another exciting partnership in the pipeline with Integrated Farms in California. Integrated Farms aspires to expand the healthy cannabis lifestyle, as do we here at HighOnLove. They produce precisely formulated, medical-grade products that provide a wonderful range of mood-enhancing experiences. Using hand-crafted extraction processes and only the finest certified flowers, they deliver potent and full-spectrum terpene and cannabinoid profiles, perfect for enhancing your pampering experience. We have expanded our product line as well as our distribution. As mentioned, we have the new products and new channels and are really excited to see the growth so far!
What is your current product line?
My current product line includes the Stimulating Orgasm Oil, Stimulating O’Gel, Chocolate Body Paint, Lip Gloss for Couples, Sensual Massage Oil, Sensual Bath Oil, and a collaboration set featuring Jopen by CalExotics.
Where do you distribute?
We sell to various retailers including Amazon, Askderm, and I was recently able to sign an exclusive deal with Ann Summers for the UK market. It is exciting to see leading retailers distribute our line of products. We are also planning on designing a new line of products, HighXOLove, at a more affordable price point for Walmart.
The line will include a stimulant, lubricant, lip gloss, and massage oil. The gender-neutral line of products will be made of natural, vegan ingredients that are free of parabens, glycerin, and gluten.
What are HighOnLove’s strengths?
We are a tight team that shares the same perspectives. It is our vision to break down existing taboos about cannabis as well as revolutionize and deliver the ultimate pampering experience through cannabis seed oil-infused wellness products. To deliver this, we only create products that can help bring forth pleasure that meet our high standards.
What are some of your proudest moments?
Our proudest moment is the collaboration between HighOnLove and CalExotics. We were able to create a match made in heaven with HighOnLove’s Stimulating Orgasm Oil and CalExotic’s Grace Palm Massager. We are hoping to break any barriers tied to self-love and pleasure.
What significant things have you learned so far about the industry?
Cannabis products are deemed uncomfortable subjects to openly discuss — a taboo in society. Companies that produce these products do face a challenge because people are suppressing their real needs and desires. But once this barrier is broken down and people feel much more comfortable expressing what they want, a much bigger marketplace will show its existence!
What have you learned about starting and growing a company?
The starting stages of a company can be difficult. However, this is a stage we begin to explore and learn more about the industry. Putting in full effort to participate in events and shows to get the brand name out in the industry and searching for the trends of the industry can really help in growing the company.
What words of wisdom can you share about the business, the industry, or the future of the industry?
Believe in yourself. Trust yourself and be passionate in your work. Know that you can be the one that helps break taboos related to cannabis — work to your fullest and influence others.
