Hemp & CBD Expo 2019 Wrap Up
With the hemp and CBD markets quickly taking hold in the UK, it was only a matter of time before an expo appeared to bring industry and consumers together. Rich Hamilton toured the expansive exhibitor floor at Birmingham’s NEC to report on the Hemp & CBD Expo.

Following the overwhelming success of their first show earlier this year, the UK’s first totally dedicated hemp and CBD trade show was back, bigger than before. Held over the September 14-15 weekend at one of the country’s leading exhibition destinations, the NEC in Birmingham, 160 exhibitors and more than 8,000 visitors were treated to an array of innovative products and exhibits from all corners of this growing and thriving industry. Oils, edibles, seeds, compliance, machinery, packaging and labeling, hydroponics, nutrients, inhalable CBD, hardware, raw materials, wholesalers, distributers, retailers, white label manufacturers, investment opportunities, legal compliance services, and much more were all represented at this ground-breaking UK expo.

It was also a weekend of education as the team exceeded visitors’ and exhibitors’ expectations by delivering an even bigger and better show than they did in March. Each attendee received a copy of the newest show guide edition of the Hemp & CBD Expo magazine and a goody bag.
Encompassing the whole spectrum of the CBD and the hemp industry from farming right through to extraction, there was something for anyone who has an interest in this increasingly expanding market.
Whether it is CBD for inhaling, desktop vaporizers or portable vape pens, dietary supplements, topicals, or oils, there are many different forms of product out there on the market that offer variety to fit the consumer’s need and all of them could be found at the show.

Hemp representation was strong with everything from superfoods containing raw produce to branded packaged products available, all ready to boast and exhibit the many talents of the hemp plant.
Once again, the show included B2B and B2C attendance with the two-seminar stage serving to educate both general consumers and all levels of B2B interests.

There was a full calendar of events on the seminar stages with guest speakers from all corners of the industry appearing on the main stage, a speaker’s gallery, as well as the Business Pro seminar stage. These talks featured many in-depth discussions on leading topics surrounding our industry alongside a B2B-specific “Compliance Corner,” available to help with consultation for products. To top it all off there was the Hemp & CBD awards and dinner held exclusively for B2B customers and exhibitors on the Saturday night where the best of the industry was celebrated.
The UK’s leading dedicated hemp and CBD trade show once again provided a professional and enlightening experience that no doubt will continue to grow. The next UK Hemp & Expo show is scheduled for March 2020.
