Cheech & Chong is the moniker commonly used to refer to the comedian duo of Richard ‘Cheech’ Marino and Tommy Chong. Together they starred in a few low budget films. In 1978, they had their first big break with their feature film Up In Smoke, which quickly became a cult classic. Two sequels followed: Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie and Nice Dreams. The films were considered ‘stoner’ comedies because they contained rampant marijuana usage throughout and continued drug references.
The duo would go on to make numerous other movies and launch solo careers. During the 1980s, the two parted ways to explore other career paths, but in 2008, the team of Cheech & Chong reunited and they continue to work together on various projects.
