Maximum Yield Explains Flower Child

Originally, a flower child would not only wear flowers, but would give them as gifts in a form of peaceful protest. There are many examples found in media from the 1960s and 1970s during the turmoil of the Vietnam War that show this concept in action.

Flower child also refers to those who celebrated the Summer of Love in 1967. An estimated 100,000 young people arrived in the San Francisco Bay area that summer to search for new value systems and learn about other cultures. They took those lessons away with them when they returned to their homes.

Of course, the term flower child has strong connections with marijuana culture, mostly due to the prevalent use and promotion of marijuana during the 1960s by those in various counterculture movements. However, one does not necessarily have to be an antiwar activist in order to appreciate the many benefits of marijuana, from relaxation to medicinal.
