What Does Doobie Mean?
Synonymous to a joint, a doobie is a slang word used in pop culture in reference to a marijuana cigarette. The word originally came to use in the United States of America in the 1960s and stuck around, but the exact origin of the term ‘doobie’ is still unknown.
There are now countless slang terms used to reference cannabis, including ganja, Mary Jane, reefer, grass, and dozens of others. When cannabis was highly illegal around the world and use was frowned upon, slang terms like these helped people somewhat disguise or hide their cannabis use, especially from their parents.
