What Does Electronic Nail (E-Nail) Mean?

When using a dab rig for dabbing cannabis concentrates, an electronic nail controls the temperature of the nail and eliminates the need for a butane torch. In a dab rig, the nail is the part responsible for heating the concentrate to the form of a vapor. They can be made out of quartz, glass, titanium, or ceramic materials.

An electronic nail is a small box that fits over the nail. It features a metal coil that is heated with electricity. The coiled rings measure between 16 and 20 millimeters in circumference. They are stacked on top of each other.

When e-nails first came out, they were way too expensive for the average person, but their price has come down substantially since then.

Maximum Yield Explains Electronic Nail (E-Nail)

The box of the electric nail controls both the temperature and the power to the nail. Buttons on the device normally control the temperature and allow the user to move it higher or lower. Numbers are readily visible on most electric nails. The bottom number is the set temperature and the top number is the actual temperature. This is all done digitally.

An electronic nail is beneficial because it allows the user to turn off the nail when not being used so they do not inadvertently burn themselves. The user can also easily control the temperature, which allows them to more readily use low-temperature dabs whose valuable terpenes would be lost if the dab was heated too hot. Another big benefit is that this type of temperature control provides a more consistent, reliable hit from the dab each time.

Oftentimes, the electric nail is paired with a titanium or glass carb cap to further enhance the dab. Unfortunately, the only major drawback of most models of electric nails is that they are not very mobile and always requires an electric source. However, newer models of electronic nails have been designed that are battery powered.

An electronic nail is a component of an e-rig, an electronic rig used for cannabis dabbing. The terms are used somewhat interchangeable.
